There currently is a beautiful exhibition in Venice, Italy about the Marchesa Luisa Casati. A wealthy Italian aristocrat who died destitute, she’s remained an international muse for the art and fashion set during her heyday from the Belle Époque through the Roaring Twenties up to today. She’s inspired contemporary designers such as Karl Lagerfeld ar Chanel and John Galliano at Dior.
The exhibit is being held in the beautiful Palazzo Fortuny. The large, open space is a dramatic setting for the stylish collection of paintings, statues and clothes. The exhibit also focuses on the Marchesa’s transformative relationship with the writer Gabriele d’Annunzio.
The exhibit ends March 8, 2015.
